Have you put on sunscreen today? We're not suggesting you lather on like you're beach-bound, but it's Skin Cancer Awareness month--and SPF and education are our top allies. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States; one in five Americans will develop it in their lifetime, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. That's why it's important we keep reminding ourselves these quick (and easy!) tips:
Make SPF part of your daily beauty routine. We recommend using a daily moisturizer with at least SPF 15, though SPF 30 is even better.
Gloomy days have a secret. Those clouds? They are simply camouflaging UV rays. You still need to wear the normal amount of SPF you would use if it were sunny.
Sunscreen isn't the only way to protect yourself. Try summer's many chic wide brim hats to shade your face, ears, and neck.
UV rays are strongest between 10 A.M. and 4 P.M., and especially at noon. Keep this in mind while out & about during the day. Short trips to & from the car without sun protection will add up when repeated daily.
We've also got you covered with Susan Posnick's
ColorFLO products in mineral foundation, shimmer or bronzer--they provide natural sun protection and flawless coverage. Whether you choose shade or serious sunscreen, it's the small steps toward prevention that'll make the biggest difference.
